On June 21, 2021, Nisio Isin’s Official Twitter account has announced that a new Monogatari series volume will be released this year. Also, the title will be an another wordplay ‘Shinomonogatari’ (‘Death Tale’ in English). The volume is going to come out on August 19, 2021.

The upcoming Shinomonogatari will be the 22nd part of the Monogatari series novels. It will comprise of two volumes, volumes 27 and 28. They will contain the Deathtopia Destiny, Deathtopia Destination, and Deathtopia Death Education story arcs. Also, it will be the last story for the Monster Season.
So far, we don’t have any news about the cover for the upcoming volume, as the Tweeter stated that more information will be coming in the future on Nisio Isin’s Twitter account. Ougimonogatari, the previous volume in the Monogatari series, came out on October 28, 2020.
In case you didn’t know, Nisio Isin debuted as an author with his very first novel, the Zaregoto Series back on February 25, 2002. What’s more, in 2006, he released the very first volume for the Monogatari Series, Bakemonogatari (Monster Tale).
