Nintendo announced a new The Legend of Zelda game titled Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment for the Nintendo Switch 2. Developed in collaboration with Koei Tecmo Games, this title will serve as a prequel to The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, diving into the events of the Imprisoning War. It will release in the upcoming winter.
The Hyrule Warriors series has a history of commercial success. Notably, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity became the best-selling game in the Warriors franchise, with over four million sold units as of January 2022.
