Oreimo Author and Artist Duo to Publish a New Light Novel

Tsukasa Fushimi and Hiro Kanzaki, author and illustrator of the Oreimo and Eromanga Sensei series, are working on a new light novel, which will be published under Dengeki Bunko imprint. The new light novel, titled Watashi no Hatsukoi wa Hazukashisugite Dare ni mo Ienai which roughly translates as My First Love Is Too Embarrassing to Tell Anyone, is a romantic comedy with, you guessed it right, siblings as the main characters. The first volume will go on sale on January 10, 2024.

The synopsis reads as follows:
Chiaki is good-looking, academically excellent, good at sports, born into a rich family, with a super beautiful sister. He is leading a smooth sailing life but still has a problem. He has never been popular with girls, and has never once been in love!
In high school, he vowed to make a fresh start and spent his days being pampered by girls. The morning after making this vow, Chiaki wakes up to find that he has turned into a girl. He is shocked to find that he has lost the appearance he is so proud of, but when he looks at himself in the mirror, he sees a very cute girl in the reflection. He immediately goes to show it off to his twin sister Kaede, who happens to be very popular with the girls, but there is also something very unusual happening to her…

Tsukasa Fushimi as author and Hiro Kanzaki as illustrator are best known for their work on both light novel series Oreimo: My Little Sister Can’t Be This Cute and Eromanga Sensei. Oreimo, which was considered a masterpiece by Days With My Stepsister author Ghost Mikawa, inspired two anime seasons. The first aired in 2010 and was animated by AIC Build, while the second aired in 2013 and was animated by A-1 Pictures. The Eromanga Sensei light novel series recently ended with its 13th volume. It received an anime adaptation by studio A-1 Pictures in 2017, which had 12 episodes and was followed by a two-episode OVA in 2019. A manga adaptation was serialized from 2014 to 2021, featuring art by rin. It ended after 79 chapters that were compiled in 12 volumes.
