Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin Reveals Trailer, Theme Songs

Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin anime revealed a trailer and July 6 premiere date. Studio P.A. Works is animating the adaptation of the game series. The trailer introduces the theme songs: Ikimono-gakari will be performing the opening “Seisei!” while Little Glee Monster is doing the ending. titled “Origami.”

Masayuki Yoshihara is directing Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin anime. Jukki Hanada is in charge of the series composition with Mio Fujishima on the character designs. Sayo Mizuno is credited as the chief animation director. Yoshiaki Fujisawa is composing the music. The characters from the game are returning and will share the voice cast:

The Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin game was initially developed by Edelweiss and published by Marvelous in 2020. It is currently available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, and Windows. The game’s Steam page describes the premise as:
Spoiled harvest goddess Sakuna finds herself banished from her opulent celestial home to an island overrun with demons. In the untamed wilderness, she must rediscover her birthright as the daughter of a warrior god and harvest goddess by weathering the elements, fighting monsters, and cultivating rice, the source of her power. By her side in this forbidding place is her guardian Tama and a group of outcast humans. Together, these unlikely companions must join hands to tame both the soil and the demons of Hinoe Island.
