Nico Robin, the archaeologist of the Straw Hats, has had her own bronze statue unveiled in Japan! It’s in a small village called Minamiaso in Kumamoto Prefecture, which was heavily damaged in the Kumamoto Earthquake back in 2016. They live-streamed the unveiling, and you can watch it on YouTube:
You can see the statue:
There is also a special illustration, drawn by Eiichiro Oda for the occasion:
The author of One Piece, Eiichiro Oda, is actually a Kumamoto native. When the devastating 7.0 magnitude earthquake hit, he donated around 800 million yen ($7.1 Million) for the earthquake relief. They commemorated it by placing statues of the Straw Hats in the affected areas, and the Robin bronze statue is the 8th one. Zoro will be next in Ozu Central Park, but there’s no date yet.
Besides the WE ARE ONE live-action x anime episodes, the franchise had the space collaboration, the special One Piece one-shot drawn by the author of Nisekoi, Yamato reveal, the live-action movie announcement, Ryuma voiced manga, and more. It’s slowly getting closer to episode 1000, and it’s only going to get even more hyped.
