The Eminence in Shadow Season 2 unveiled the updated version of the main visual, now featuring “John Smith.” The highly anticipated sequel premiered officially earlier this month, although it had an early screening at this year’s Anime Expo.
Theme songs for the second season are OxT’s “greyscale dominator” and “Polaris in the Night” – sung by the cast members. Studio Nexus is animating with Kazuya Nakanishi as the director.
Studio Nexus animated the first season of the series, which aired in two consecutive cours for a total of 20 episodes. Kazuya Directed the anime. Makoto Iino (Demon Lord, Retry) did the character designs, while Kanichi Kato was in charge of the series composition. The Eminence the Shadow main cast includes:

- Inori Minase as Beta
- Fairouz Ai as Delta

The anime is based on a light novel written by Daisuke Aizawa and illustrated by Touzai. The light novel started serialization in 2017 and currently has five volumes out. Manga adaptation by Anri Sakano is currently ongoing, along with The Eminence in Shadow: Shadow Gaiden 4-koma (four-panel) manga.
HIDIVE is streaming the anime and describes the plot as:
When Cid is isekai’d to another world, he creates an underground organization to live out a fight against a made-up cult. Little does he know the cult is real, and they’re not happy his power fantasy just impeded their plans!
