The VTuber Awards 2024, the second edition of the medium’s dedicated award ceremony, will return on Filian’s Twitch channel on December 14, 2024. Via a press release, Filian, Mythic Talent, and WePlay Studios will preside over 22 categories at a new virtual venue.
“This year’s awards will continue to build on last year’s by bringing together and spotlighting more VTubers across the world for the live event,” Filian shared. “We’re super excited to join up with as many creators as possible to celebrate this rapidly growing community.”
She continued, “Our team is going to have higher production value across the board with graphics, motion capture, and show running! Last year’s edition racked up a peak concurrent viewership of 68,951 and saw popular talents like Mori Calliope win Best Music VTuber, 2wintails celebrated as Parent of the Year for her role in crafting beloved character models, and Gawr Gura’s Chumbuds getting a special shoutout as they took the award for Most Dedicated Fanbase, and many more winners. The award’s format is also explained on the website; fans can support any VTuber from any platform and language across three phases: nominations, voting, and the award show itself. While nominations and votes can be edited as many times as desired, only the final submission will be accepted. The nomination and voting window dates are yet to be confirmed.
