VS The Little Giant: Haikyu Final Movie 2 Reveals Title, Teaser Visual and Trailer

Haikyu Final 2-part movie revealed the first teaser visual and trailer for its second part titled Haikyu the Movie: VS The Little Giant, along with the title and first staff information. Production I.G. is again in charge of the animation, with Susumu Mitsunaka in charge of the direction and script. The movie will cover the match between Karasuno and Kamomedai. Interestingly, the official website removed the “Final” wording from the branding, suggesting that there may be something beyond the project.

Haikyu Final Movie: VS The Little Giant (Movie 2) – First Teaser Visual

This is the second of two final movies for the Haikyu franchise. It will cover the 4th round nationals match between Karasuno High and Kamomedai High and show the clash between two “Little Giants,” Shoyo Hinata and Korai Hoshiumi. The confirmed staff for the movie is the same as it was for the first one and includes:

  • Director: Susumu Mitsunaka
  • Studio: Production I.G

In addition to the second movie, a special anime covering another quarterfinal match (Fukurodani vs Mujinazaka) was also announced.

Haruichi Furudate wrote and drew the original Haikyu (stylized as Haikyu!!) manga, which was serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump from 2012 to 2020. The manga ended with 405 chapters, compiled into 45 volumes. Viz Media licensed the manga in English.

Production I.G was in charge of animating both the movie and the TV anime. The first season aired in 2014, followed by the second one which started in Fall 2015 and finished in Winter 2016. Season 3 ran for 10 episodes in Fall 2016, covering Karasuno vs Shiratorizawa match. Season 4 was titled Haikyuu!! To the Top, and it ran for 25 episodes over two cours – Winter 2020 and Fall 2020. In addition to the TV anime and recent movie, the franchise also has multiple recap movies, OVAs, side stories, stage plays and games.

The first movie, HAIKYU: The Dumpster Battle, began streaming on Netflix and Crunchyroll on October 31, 2024. You can also read our review.
