Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian (also called Roshidere) revealed new key visual character visuals for Alisa Mikhailovna Kujou (Alya), Masachika Kuze, and Maria Mikhailovna Kujou (Masha) on Tuesday. Additionally, the anime announced that it is scheduled to premiere in April 2024.
November 7 marks Alya’s birthday and a special live show was streamed to celebrate her birthday with Sumire Uesaka (VA of Alya) and Yukiyo Fujii (VA of Masha) as guests. In the show, a special birthday visual and movie were released. The movie is available on the official YouTube channel.
Studio Doga Kobo will be in charge of the animation with Ryota Ito as director and in charge of the series composition. Yuhei Murota is acting as the character designer and chief animation director. The cast includes:
- Masachika Kuze: Kohei Amasaki
- Alisa Mikhailovna Kujou: Sumire Uesaka
- Yuki Suoh: Wakana Maruoka
- Maria Mikhailovna Kujou: Yukiyo Fujii
- Ayano Kimishima: Saya Aizawa
The synopsis of the series is as follows:
Alya-san, who sits next to Masachika Kuze, always gives him the cold shoulder.
However, she sometimes blurts out a few flirtatious words to him in Russian.
Masachika never misses a word of it. That’s because Masachika has native-level Russian listening skills!
Alya-san, who thinks he doesn’t understand and sometimes blurts out words of affection. Masachika, who understands the meaning but pretends not to. Where will their love story which keeps you grinning take them!?
The TV anime is adapting the light written by SunSunSun and illustrated by Momoco. The novel was initially published online as two short stories on the self-publishing website Shosetsuka ni Naro in May 2020. It was later acquired by Kadokawa’s Sneaker Bunko imprint in 2021 and it currently has 5 volumes and a short story in circulation. Kodansha’s Magazine Pocket is serializing the manga adaptation by Saho Tenamachi which was launched in October 2022.
