Subaru, Emilia, Rem, and Ram Celebrate Tanabata Day in New Re:ZERO Visual

Written by Marko Jovanovic

Re:ZERO dropped a special new Tanabata Day visual, featuring Subaru, Emilia, Rem and Ram dressed up to celebrate ahead of Season 4. Tanabata Day, also known as the Star Festival, is a traditional Japanese celebration held on July 7. It’s based on a romantic legend about two stars, Orihime (Vega) and Hikoboshi (Altair), who are lovers separated by the Milky Way and can only meet once a year on this day.

People celebrate by writing their wishes on colorful strips of paper called tanzaku and hanging them on bamboo branches, along with other decorations. You can see the Re:ZERO characters in the visual below.

Re:ZERO Season 4 recently revealed the first trailer, along with revealing a new visual for the sequel anime. Fairouz Ai also joined the voice cast as Shaula, the Star Keeper of the Pleiades Watchtower, while Crunchyroll confirmed that it will stream the anime in 2026.

We previously got to interview some of the Re:ZERO Season 3 staff, including the director and character designer, as well as Subaru’s Japanese voice actor Yusuke Kobayashi. The story will continue from Volume 21 of the novel series in Season 4 of the anime.
