Villains Are Destined to Die Webtoon TV Anime Adaptation Announced as Main Story Ends

The popular Korean webtoon Villains Are Destined to Die is officially getting a TV anime adaptation. The announcement comes alongside the completion of the webtoon’s main story, which concluded with Chapter 214. No information about the TV anime’s studio, staff, cast, release window, or format has been announced.

Based on the original novel by Gwon Gyeoeul with the webtoon adaptation illustrated by SUOL, Villains Are Destined to Die follows a university student who finds herself transported into the otome game she had been playing. She awakens as Penelope, the villainess of the game’s notoriously difficult hard mode.

With multiple routes capable of ending in her death, Penelope must raise the affection levels of the game’s potential love interests and find a way to successfully clear the game.

The series is published by D&C MEDIA and has been serialized in Japan through Piccoma, where it won the SMARTOON category at the Piccoma AWARD 2026. An X campaign is also being held until August 15, with 10 participants set to receive a B2 poster featuring a newly drawn illustration by SUOL.

Yen Press licensed both the original web novel and webtoon in English, describing the story:
