Legend of Mana: The Teardrop Crystal is based on the 1999 action role-playing game Legend of Mana, made by Square Enix. It was the fourth game title from the Mana series, following the 1995 release of Trials of Mana. The game received a remastered version for Microsoft PC, Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 in June 2021; and in December 2021 for Android and iOS.

The official website describes the plot as:
Shilo is a young boy who lives near the town of Domina. One day, he begins hearing a mysterious voice in his dreams. The voice tells him that he has a mission to fulfill…He soon meets two people who belong to the Jumi race. The Jumi have been targeted by others for years. The reason is the fact that they have a jewel buried in their chests, which led to many of them losing their lives. The two spend their lives fending off attackers from all over the world. Shilo sets out on an adventure to find a special jewel that will help protect them.
