BLUE LOCK Season 2 has revealed a cool new key visual starring the characters who will be active in the sequel, as well as some additional cast members. The anime premieres in October 2024.
Eiji Mikami is joining the cast as Yo Hiori, with Kakeru Hatano joining as Nijiro Nanase. Their characters are present in the new visual as well.
A voiced video was also revealed for the visual, featuring the characters one by one.

Studio 8bit animated the first BLUE LOCK season, which in October last year and ran for 2 cours. The main cast of Blue Lock anime includes Soma Saito (Hyoma Chigiri), Kazuki Ura (Yoichi Isagi), Yuki Ono (Rensuke Kunigami), and Tasuku Kaito (Meguru Bachira). The previously announced new cast members which were announced along with BLUE LOCK Season 2 are:
- Yuichi Nakamura as Shido Ryusei
- Makoto Furukawa as Karasu Tabito
- Kengo Kawanishi as Kageya Otoyo
- Takuya Eguchi as Yu Yukimiya Kenyu
- Hiro Shimono as Julian Loki
- Shinichiro Kamio as Leonardo Luna
The anime is based on a manga written by Muneyuki Kaneshiro and illustrated by Yusuke Nomura. Kodansha is publishing the manga in English, and they describe the story:
After a disastrous defeat at the 2018 World Cup, Japan’s team struggles to regroup. But what’s missing? An absolute Ace Striker, who can guide them to the win! The Football Association is hell-bent on creating a striker who hungers for goals and thirsts for victory, and who can be the decisive instrument in turning around a losing match … To do so, they’ve gathered 300 of Japan’s best and brightest youth players. In addition to the 2nd TV anime season, the BLUE LOCK – EPISODE Nagi movie premiered in Japan on April 19. It adapts the spin-off manga of the same name, which has art by Kota Sannomiya. Crunchyroll is bringing it to North America starting on June 28.
