We saw a satisfying farewell in episode 7 of Arifureta season 2 after Hajime fulfilled his goal in the city of Erisen. The finished task means it’s time for him and his party to leave. However, it also means that they must leave Myu since one of the reasons they went there is to take Myu home to be reunited with her mother. Though I really thought that Hajime would bring Myu and Remia when he leaves, he didn’t. Hajime didn’t also state the reason why: Myu and Remia don’t know how to fight, and they would just be in the way. Worst case scenario is that they might end up dead when they encounter a very strong foe like Freid. They are not like Shea, Yue, Kaori, and Tio who have magic powers.
This episode did a good job of portraying that Myu grew so much during the time she spent with Hajime. She understands that one day, Hajime’s party will need to leave the city of Erisen and her, by she doesn’t try to stop him because she knows what he needs to do. She will stay in her hometown, patiently waiting for Hajime to come back even though there’s no assurance. And when the time comes, she and Remia will gladly welcome Hajime and they will go with him if he happens to find a way to go back to Earth. Whatever happens, Hajime will always be a father figure to Myu.
As Hajime leaves Erisen, the events in the capital are worsening. Aiko wakes up in a cell and it seems that her kidnapper aims to lure Hajime there. Freid gathered an army of demons and undead and plans to attack the capital. The soldiers are acting strange. Lily doesn’t know who she can trust. Even if she is the princess, she is still hiding from the soldiers of their country. The king is also acting odd. It looks like someone is controlling them behind the shadows. Daisuke and a mysterious girl are also plotting something and it seems that they are related to the reason why the soldiers are acting weird. The only people who are acting normally are the heroes and the captain of the knights, Meld.
Just as Meld tries to ask for help from Hajime and to the duke of Ankaji, he is suddenly killed by Daisuke, and the episode ends there. Well, it’s not a surprise that we see Daisuke betraying his comrades since he is the one who tried to kill Hajime in the first episode of Arifureta season 1. Surely, he is up to no good again this time and Hajime might be the reason for it. What is he planning to do? Are we going to see more malicious events? If you are curious, episode 8 will air on March 3, 2022, and you can watch it on Funimation.
Lastly, if you are happy to see that Myu becomes more mature in episode 7 of Arifureta season 2, you can vote for the anime on our weekly poll.
