Engage Kiss is an A-1 Pictures original action-packed romcom that will air weekly this season. The first episode, which aired on July 2, 2022, featured demon slaying, kiss rituals, and an incredible action sequence.
The series was created by the author of Saekano and the illustrator of Date a Live, and it was voted the ninth most anticipated anime for summer 2022. If you haven’t heard of Engage Kiss, you can learn more about it by watching the trailer:
If you’ve seen the trailer and are wondering whether you should watch Engage Kiss, I’d say yes. It’s a goofy show with a slice-of-life feel that doesn’t hold back when it comes to action.
The first episode introduced us to three main characters, one of whom would do anything to achieve his goals, even if it meant not paying the bills or eating anything for three days. The other two leads are female characters. One of them, a demon, has a strong yandere presence but is also very sweet 99 percent of the time, while the other one is an ex-girlfriend. It’s exactly as chaotic as it sounds, which appeals to the majority of fans.
The anime community reacted positively to Engage Kiss’s premiere. Fans expressed their thoughts on social media, and they appeared to be taken aback by how good the action animation was for both demon slaying and the kiss ritual. Some fans are even calling it a contender for anime of the season.
