Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End TV anime released a creditless opening song video after today’s two-hour premiere. The musical duo YOASOBI is performing the opening theme song and they also released an official music video.
Studio Madhouse (A Place Further Than The Universe) is animating the series with Keiichirou Saito (Bocchi the Rock!) as director. Tomohiro Suzuki (One Punch Man) is the scriptwriter, Evan Call (Violet Evergarden) is the music composer, and Reiko Nagasawa (takt op. Destiny) is the character designer. The ending theme song is titled “Anytime Anywhere” by milet. The cast includes:

- Nobuhiko Okamoto as Himmel
- Hiroki Tochi as Heiter
- Yoji Ueda as Eisen
- Kana Ichinose as Fern
- Chiaki Kobayashi as Stark
- Atsuko Tanaka as Flamme
- Hiroki Yasumoto as Qual
The anime is based on the manga written by Kanehito Yamada and illustrated by Tsukasa Abe. It has been serialized in Shogakukan’s Shonen magazine Weekly Shonen Sunday since April 2020. Viz Media is licensing the manga in English and describes the plot as follows:
Elf mage Frieren and her courageous fellow adventurers have defeated the Demon King and brought peace to the land. With the great struggle over, they all go their separate ways to live a quiet life. But as an elf, Frieren, nearly immortal, will long outlive the rest of her former party. How will she come to terms with the mortality of her friends? How can she find fulfillment in her own life, and can she learn to understand what life means to the humans around her? Frieren begins a new journey to find the answer.
The series was also voted as the most anticipated new anime of the Fall 2023 season.
