Frieren: Beyond Journey's End Reveals New Trailer and 2-Hour Premiere

The previously announced Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End TV anime has revealed a new trailer and a two-hour special premiere on September 29. The series unveiled its first trailer last March. Studio Madhouse is animating the series.

Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End – Trailer

After the 2-hour premiere of Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End, the series will be broadcasted on the Nippon TV channel in Japan every week. Keiichirou Saito is directing the anime with Tomohiro Suzuki writing the scripts. Evan Call is composing the music while Reiko Nagasawa adapts the character designs from the manga written by Kanehito Yamada and illustrated by Tsukasa Abe. Atsumi Tanezaki is voicing the titular character Frieren while the rest of the cast consists of Nobuhiko Okamoto as Himmel, Hiroki Tochi as Heiter, and Yoji Ueda as Eisen.

The manga that the anime is adapting has been serialized in Shogakukan’s shonen manga magazine Weekly Shonen Sunday since April 2020. Viz Media is licensing the manga in English and describes the plot as follows:
Elf mage Frieren and her courageous fellow adventurers have defeated the Demon King and brought peace to the land. With the great struggle over, they all go their separate ways to live a quiet life. But as an elf, Frieren, nearly immortal, will long outlive the rest of her former party. How will she come to terms with the mortality of her friends? How can she find fulfillment in her own life, and can she learn to understand what life means to the humans around her? Frieren begins a new journey to find the answer.
