Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End episode 27 preview images and trailer have been released. The episode titled “An Era of Humans” is scheduled to premiere on Friday, March 15. The official website describes the plot of the upcoming episode as follows:
Twelve people, including Frieren and Fern, successfully conquered the Ruins of the King’s Tomb and passed the second exam. Frieren visits a certain place to repair Fern’s staff, which was shattered during the second exam… And the key to passing or failing the final exam of the First Class Mage Exam was held by Serie, Flamme’s master and the founder of the Continental Magic Association.

Studio Madhouse (A Place Further Than The Universe) is animating the series with Keiichiro Saito (Bocchi the Rock!) as director. Tomohiro Suzuki (One Punch Man) is acting as the scriptwriter, Evan Call (Violet Evergarden) as the music composer, and Reiko Nagasawa (takt op. Destiny) as the character designer. Meanwhile, Atsumi Tanezaki (Anya Forger from Spy x Family) voices the titular character Frieren, Kana Ichinose (Suletta Mercury from Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury) as Fern, and Chiaki Kobayashi (Gabimaru from Hell’s Paradise) as Stark. Crunchyroll streams the anime and they describe the story as follows:
After the party of heroes defeated the Demon King, they restored peace to the land and returned to lives of solitude. Generations pass, and the elven mage Frieren comes face to face with humanity’s mortality. She takes on a new apprentice and promises to fulfill old friends’ dying wishes. Can an elven mind make peace with the nature of life and death? Frieren embarks on her quest to find out.
