After over 2 years, Goblin Slayer has been confirmed to be getting a season 2! They announced it today at the GA Fes 2021 stream on Abema TV. There is also a new visual:
Goblin Slayer is a Japanese dark fantasy light novel series written by Kumo Kagyu and illustrated by Noboru Kannatsuki. The first season aired over 2 years ago from October to December 2018. You can also read the synopsis:
A young priestess has formed her first adventuring party, but almost immediately they find themselves in distress. It’s the Goblin Slayer who comes to their rescue–a man who’s dedicated his life to the extermination of all goblins, by any means necessary. And when rumors of his feats begin to circulate, there’s no telling who might come calling next…
It caused some controversy back then, but with stuff like Redo of Healer, I’m glad we’ll be seeing more Goblin Slayer in a season 2 too. The final episode of the first season did tease with a message saying “Goblin Slayer will return.” after all.
The stream is still ongoing, though the stage for Goblin Slayer ended. We expect more details at a later date.
