New chapters of the Kagurabachi manga come every Sunday and the next chapter is scheduled for May 12. The series is serialized on MANGA Plus where it is currently 12th on the Hottest List. In addition to English, it is also available in Spanish. The second volumes features Sojo and Chihiro on the cover:
The plot is described as:
Young Chihiro spends his days training under his famous swordsmith father. One day he hopes to become a great sword-maker himself. The goofy father and the serious son–they thought these days would last forever. But suddenly, tragedy strikes. A dark day soaked in blood. Chihiro and his blade now live only for revenge. Epic sword battle action!
The editor in charge of the Kagurabachi was recently interviewed as part of the 5th Anniversary Project for MANGA Plus. He talked about the origins of the story, stating that Hokazono wanted to create a revenge story that he liked as he took inspiration from revenge-style movies, such as Tarantino’s works and John Wick. A brief Q&A with Hokazono was also included: the mangaka said he struggles with drawing female characters and confirmed that movies were his inspiration.
