AnimeJapan revealed the results of the annual Manga We Want to See Animated (AniRank) ranking for 2024. The poll, which allows fans to vote for their favorites, had 50 nominees this year. Voting started on February 1 and ended on March 4 and a total of 103,473 votes were cast. The nominees were picked from serialized titles (even if they haven’t released volumes), but couldn’t be one-shots. Criteria also states that the title can’t have an animated adaptation, although titles with live-action adaptations can be included. Titles in the Hall of Fame have been excluded.
AnimeJapan defines the Hall of Fame based on two criteria: past winners and manga that has ranked in the Top 10 for a total of three times. So far the list includes 7 titles: last year’s winner – Hyperinflation, The Dangers in My Heart, The Apothecary Diaries, Komi Can’t Communicate, all of which have adaptations, as well as Im: Great Priest Imhotep, 10 Dance, and Senpai Is Otokonoko (anime premieres this July).
