McDonald’s Japan is bringing another anime collaboration, this time featuring the Kiki’s Delivery Service anime movie. Inspired by European flavors, the promotion will offer three new burgers, each with a ‘unique twist’ starting on June 26. The campaign revealed an animated commercial with the characters Kiki and Jiji, voiced by Aoi Yuki and Daisuke Hanae respectively.
In case the video is region restricted, you can also watch it on their X account below.
The two voice actors also left comments about the collaboration:
Aoi Yuki (Kiki) commented:
Since childhood, whether with family or friends, I’ve always used McDonald’s a lot! Recently, I’ve been treating myself to McDonald’s hamburgers on days when I’ve worked hard! It’s a taste packed with fun memories, so it really lifts my spirits. For the role of Kiki, I received direction to perform with an infectious energy, so I approached it with an even more energetic and emotional image! I hope you’ll warmly watch over Kiki’s enthusiastic and forward-looking demeanor. McDonald’s is a place where smiles and happiness are always found whenever you visit. Please feel free to stop by during this period and taste the delicious happiness that Kiki and Jiji are delivering!
Daisuke Hanae (Jiji) commented:
During my student days, there was no McDonald’s in my hometown, so I imagined the taste while watching their commercials on TV. If my past self knew I would be involved in a McDonald’s commercial like this, I’d be surprised! After moving to Tokyo, I became a heavy McDonald’s user, eating burgers three times a week right up until just before this recording! Now, with the European Burgers, I wonder how many times a week I’ll eat them. Of course, I’ll conquer all three items! In the commercial where I play Jiji, I hope the enjoyment comes through from the lively conversation with Kiki. It’s turned out to be a very cute commercial. Look forward to it!
