Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation light novel is ending with the upcoming 26th volume. The release date for it is still unknown, as the information was revealed in a listing for the upcoming special book. The book, which is set to release on November 26, will include a new 25-page story, interviews with the author and illustrator, along with a chronology of Rudeus’ life.
Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation is a light novel by Rifujin na Magonote and Shirotaka (illustrator). It has been serialized in Media Factory’s MF Bunko imprint since 2014. The story was originally published as a web novel on the Shosetsuka ni Naro website which hosts user-generated content. The Mushoku Tensei web novel ran from November 2012 to April 2015: the light novel expanded upon the story while keeping the basic outline and, seemingly the ending, the same. The series also has a manga adaptation by Yuka Fujikawa, which is currently ongoing. The latest, 26th Volume was released last September.
The series received an anime adaptation by Studio Bind, which aired in two cours throughout 2021. The first cour aired in the Winter anime season, while the second started in the Fall season. The anime will be getting a sequel – another TV anime, which recently revealed the first trailer and 2023 premiere date. A special OAD episode titled “Eris the Goblin Slayer” also recently premiered.
Seven Seas is publishing the light novel in English and describes the plot as:
Kicked out by his family and wandering the streets, an unemployed 34-year-old shut-in thinks he’s hit rock-bottom—just as he’s hit and killed by a speeding truck! Awakening to find himself reborn as an infant in a world of swords and sorcery, but with the memories of his first life intact, Rudeus Greyrat is determined not to repeat his past mistakes. He’s going to make the most of this reincarnation as he sets off on the adventure of a second lifetime!
