ONE PIECE is celebrating its 25th anniversary by taking over the Sphere at Las Vegas this week, and Toei Animation released a new video to showcase the occasion on their YouTube channel. The takeover was announced at the beginning of the month, and it will continue until June 16. You can see a bit of what it looks like in the video below.
This is the largest ONE PIECE display yet, with the Sphere at Las Vegas being the biggest spherical structure in the world, measuring at about 366 ft (112 m) tall and 516 ft (157 m) wide. Check out some more high quality images of the sphere below.
The ONE PIECE manga by Eiichiro Oda first began in July 1997, and the series exceeded 500 million circulating copies in August 2022. The manga also celebrated the 25th anniversary in 2022, while the anime adaptation started in October 1999 and is still going strong. The manga currently has 1116 chapters, while the anime by Toei Animation is at 1108 episodes. VIZ Media licensed the manga in English, while Crunchyroll and Netflix are streaming the anime. Crunchyroll describes the story:
Monkey. D. Luffy refuses to let anyone or anything stand in the way of his quest to become the king of all pirates. With a course charted for the treacherous waters of the Grand Line and beyond, this is one captain who’ll never give up until he’s claimed the greatest treasure on Earth: the Legendary One Piece!
Some other 25th anniversary celebrations include a T-Shirt collaboration with UNIQLO, a gaming chair collection with TTRacing, a special recap video, among others.
The franchise also has the upcoming remake by WIT Studio and the 2nd season of the live-action series currently in production.
