Satelight's SAKUGAN Reveals 2nd Official Trailer, Airs in October

SAKUGAN, the upcoming anime from studio Satelight, revealed its second official PV. The anime begins airing in October 2021.

SAKUGAN (also known as Sacks&Guns!!) is based on the science-fiction mystery novel Sakugan Labyrinth Marker by Nekotaro Inu. The novel was a runner-up in the 2018 Project Anima writing contest (Sci-Fi/Robot category). Project Anima was a collab event between DeNa, Bunka Houso, and Sotsu.

Set in the far future where humans live in a cramped underground Labyrinth, the plot centers around Memempu, a 9-year-old girl who lives with her father. Her father, Gagumber, is a worker and belongs to the lowest class of citizens. He spends his days doing dangerous tasks, while Memempu learns about science. Memempu is a genius and it is her dream to become a Marker – explorer of the Labyrinth, which is something her father did before he quit and settled down. The marking job is dangerous, but Memempu wants to find her mother who left home. And so Gagumber must set out once again, to help her discover the truth of the Labyrinth.

Studio SATELIGHT (Hellsing Ultimate, Fairy Tail) is animating the series, which will premiere in the Fall 2021 season, after being delayed once. Junichi Wada (Caligula) is directing, as well as doing the series composition. Shunpei Mochizuki is in charge of character designs, while Tatsuya Kato (Mirai Nikki) is composing the music.
