Promised Neverland’s "We Were Born" 1-Shot Announced

After the recent release and success of three 1-Shot Manga chapters, Weekly Shonen Jump has announced The Promised Neverland’s 4th 1-shot, titled “We Were Born.” The story will be released in the combined fifth and sixth issue of WSJ on January 4th in Japan. The announcement comes from the preview at the end of issue 3/4.

Promised Neverland’s “We Were Born” Detailed

The blurb from the preview reveals the chapter will be 32 pages and will feature a color page. The first three 1-shots had 16, 36, and 32 pages each, so this fourth chapter leans towards the longer end as well, good news for fans. If you haven’t read the first three 1-shots yet, they’re available in English translated at MangaPlus and VIZ. 

The first 1-shot, called “The First Shot”, focused on Ray. “Seeking the Sky of Freedom,” the second one, followed Sister Krone. And the most recent 1-shot, “A Mother’s Determination” revealed the “truth” about Isabella. 

Just in Time for Anime Season 2

With a January 4th release, this chapter also comes just in time to usher in the start of Season Two of the Anime on January 7th. Season 1 was highly successful, so if that success means anything, Season 2 will also be a huge hit. If you haven’t seen Season 1 yet, you can check it out on Funimation, Crunchyroll, AnimeLab, and even Netflix.

Surrounded by a forest and a gated entrance, the Grace Field House is inhabited by orphans happily living together. They are looked after by their “Mama,” Isabella. Although they are required to take tests daily, the children are free to spend their time as they see fit. They usually are playing outside, as long as they do not venture too far from the orphanage. It’s a rule they are expected to follow no matter what. However, all good times must come to an end, as every few months, a child is adopted and sent to live with their new family… never to be heard from again. However, the three oldest siblings have their suspicions about what is actually happening at the orphanage, and they are about to discover the cruel fate that awaits the children living at Grace Field, including the twisted nature of their beloved Mama.
