Demon Slayer: Infinity Train Revenue Now Only 520 Million Away From Spirited Away

Demon Slayer: Infinity Train now looks to dethrone Spirited Away as the highest ever grossing Japanese film as soon as this week. The most recent update after 66 days of its release the movie has earned 31.16 billion yen (~301 million USD). The movie now only needs about 520 milion yen (~$5.03m USD) to surpass Spirited Away. The latter film sits at about 31.68 billion after recent re-releases. Spirited Away sat at 30.8 billion yen previously.

The anime film first aired in October and quickly achieved most of the Japanese milestones. Demon Slayer: Infinity train became the fastest to gross 30 billion yen in 18 years matching Spirited Away. The film impressively did the feat in only 59 days. Dominating the Japanese Box office for months, Infinity Train seeks to finally take first. The film will show MX4D and 4DX screenings on Saturday, December 26 as it looks to take the throne.

Infinity train also prepares for its North American release in early 2021 thanks to Aniplex and Funimation. Though the record should be set well before then.
