Dorohedoro anime adaptation is getting a sequel, as announced earlier today. Details have not been revealed, but we do know that it will be a web series. Q Hayashida commented on the announcement saying that the production has been progressing for quite some time and that she looks forward to seeing the results. The teaser visual for the Dorohedoro sequel features Kaiman and Nikaido, who were voiced by Wataru Takagi and Reina Kondo:
MAPPA animated the first season of Dorohedoro anime, which began airing in the Winter of 2020 in Japan. Overseas, the series was a Netflix exclusive and its 12 episodes arrived on the streaming platform on May 28 of that year. Yuichiro Hayashi directed and storyboarded the anime with Hiroshi Seko on the series composition and script. Tomohiro Kishi was in charge of the character designs. (K)NoW_NAME’s R O N composed the music – the unit also did the opening and the six ending theme songs.
Q Hayashida’s Doroheroro manga began serialization in 2000 in Shogakukan’s Monthly Ikki Magazine. After the magazine ceased publication in 2014, the manga moved to Hibana in 2015, which stopped publication two years later, so Doroheroro manga ended its run in Monthly Shonen Sunday in 2018. 167 chapters were collected in 23 volumes. VIZ Media published the manga in English.
