Tsukimichi: Moonlit Fantasy 2 announced that Syudou will return to perform the upcoming opening song for the season’s second cour, “Reversal.” Syudou previously sang Season 1’s opening “Gamble,” which can be heard below:
“Gamble” racked up over a million views on Crunchyroll’s official release and over 11 million on Syudou’s official channel. He joins the series’ numerous reprisals following Tsukimichi‘s move from animation studio C2C to J.C.Staff for Season 2, with director Shinji Ishihira, Kenta Ihara, and music director Yasuharu Takanashi continuing. The cover art for “Reversal” can be seen below. Syudou had this to say about the return:
The song “Reversal” is a song that I wrote specifically for this work, and at the same time, it expresses the growth of myself and Makoto from when I was in charge of the song “Gamble” during the first season compared to now. It is also a song that represents I am overflowing with gratitude for having the opportunity to create such songs. I sincerely hope that the song “Reversal” will be loved by everyone along with this work. I’m looking forward to it!
The latest Tsukimichi episode also saw the return of two characters in-world, with the Rembrandt Sisters mostly cured of their curse in Season 1. They now join Misumi’s growing class of students as he establishes himself at the Academy. Readers can check out our review of Tsukimichi’s Season 2 premiere, described as “imperfect but fun.” The early episodes focused on the other Heroes, Hibiki, and Tomoki, whose introductions were omitted in the first season.
Tsukimichi Season 2 will run for 2 consecutive cours and is streaming on Crunchyroll. They describe the series:
Makoto Misumi was just an average teenager who suddenly was summoned to another world as a “hero.” But the goddess of this world called him ugly and took his hero status away from him, then sent him to the ends of the world. He meets dragons, spiders, orcs, dwarves, and many other non-human races in the wastelands. Makoto manages to show promise in the use of magic and fighting, which he wouldn’t have been able to do in his former world. He has numerous encounters, but will he be able to survive this new world? A fantasy where a guy who gods and humanity had abandoned tries to reset his life in this new world is about to begin!
