The Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End manga will return from its hiatus next week, which means it will be back in the next issue of Weekly Shonen Sunday on Wednesday, August 7. The manga went on an indefinite hiatus without specifying a reason.
Kanehito Yamada writes the Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End manga, with Tsukasa Abe as the artist. It has been serialized in Shogakukan’s Weekly Shonen Sunday manga magazine since April 2020. It is available to read via Sunday Webry, Viz Media, and the Shogakukan Comic website.
The anime adaptation of Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End was animated by MADHOUSE and ran from September 2023 to March 2024. It doubled the manga sales during its run, and the anime was voted as the Best Anime of Fall 2023. It also took the Best Boy (Stark), Best Girl (Fern), Best Adaptation, Best Drama, and Best Opening (“Yuusha” by YOASOBI) awards.
In our 2023 Anime of the Year Awards, Frieren won Best New Anime, Best Adaptation, Best Fantasy, Best Adventure, and it was 2nd in Best Drama and 3rd in Best Animation.
