Eichiro Oda teased a new ONE PIECE film in his Jump Festa 2026 message this weekend, joking about how it’s not “going particularly well” and teasing that it’s about something he is sure everyone will be interested in. This will be the 15th movie for the franchise.
He also commented on the manga, teasing that “the man with the burn scar” will appear in 2026. Next year will also see the release of the live-action adaptation’s Season 2, the Elbaph Arc in the TV anime, as well as potential news on the WIT Studio remake. You can read Oda’s full message below.

The latest movie for the franchise was ONE PIECE FILM RED, which premiered in August 2022. The movie grossed over ¥2.25 billion (~$15 million), with 1.57 million attendees in the opening weekend in Japan. That made the biggest opening-weekend numbers when it came to both the audience and earnings among films of 2022. It also quickly became the best-performing film in ONE PIECE‘s history.
The ONE PIECE franchise, created by Eiichiro Oda, is one of the most successful manga and anime series of all time. Since its serialization began in 1997, ONE PIECE has exceeded over 520 million copies in print worldwide. Chapter 1169 was released on December 21. The ONE PIECE anime, animated by Toei Animation, first premiered in 1999 and is set to enter the Elbaph Arc in April 2026 after a 3-month break.
