86-Eighty Six’s new opening theme surpassed one million views on Aniplex’s official Youtube channel on October 7, 2021. The stunning video hit the million-views mark in just five days. In comparison, the previous opening took a few months to hit the same milestone. With music performed by amazarashi, the new opening theme made its debut at the end of episode 12 to kick off the second cour of 86-Eighty Six.

Incredible animations mixed in with an array of beautiful colors, 86-Eighty Six 2nd Cour’s opening theme, in my opinion, is definitely one of the best we’ve received all year.
The build-up to the Spearhead Squadron flying down onto a battlefield covered with soothing light and vibrant colors gives the viewer a sense of comfort mixed with pure adrenaline. Viewers will also notice a lot of new characters not seen in the previous cour of the series. Along with some heavy metaphors and foreshadowing, the new opening theme truly ended episode 12 perfectly.
Possible Anime of the Season
