Ranking of Kings: Treasure Chest of Courage has revealed the episode 1 preview video ahead of its April 13 premiere. The anime is a side story TV anime and will be broadcast on Fuji TV’s Noitamina’s block. Watch the episode 1 preview:
The episode seems to be split into two different smaller stories. The staff for the episode includes Tomomi Kawaguchi on screenplay and Makoto Fuchigami on storyboard/direction. Osamu Murata will be the animation director for the first part titled “Kage’s Errand,” which is described as:
One morning during their training in the underworld, Bojji and Kage were preparing a meal when the screams of Despa echoed throughout the mansion. Bojji and his friend rushed to the house, only to find Despa with a quilt over his head…
Ayaka Ofusa will be the animation director for the second one, titled “The Prince and the Money,” which is described as:
Bojji and Kage are told by Despa to go and earn money for their social studies. They look at job boards and visit various stores, but nothing seems to work out…
WIT Studio returned to animate the new Ranking of Kings anime. The cast is reprising roles from the first season, with Minami Hinata as Boji and Ayumu Murase as Kage. The main staff for the anime includes:

The anime is based on a manga by Sosuke Toka. Crunchyroll streamed the TV anime and describes the story:
How prosperous your nation is, how many powerful warriors it boasts, and how heroic and strong its king is. These are the criteria that factor into the system known as the Ranking of Kings. The main character, Bojji, was born the first prince of the kingdom ruled by King Bossu, who is ranked number seven. But Bojji was born unable to hear and is so powerless that he can’t even swing a sword. In consequence, his own retainers and the public, look down upon him as completely unfit to be king. It is then that Bojji finds his first friend, Kage, and Bojji’s life takes a dramatic turn…
