Popular Japanese singer LiSA is performing the theme song for the Japanese dub of the new Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse film. The theme song is titled “REALiZE,” and has been released ahead of the film’s theatrical premiere in Japan on June 16.
“REALiZE” is LiSA’s first new release in seven months since her 6th album “LANDER” came out in November 2022. The song was specially written for the Japanese dubbed version of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. “REALiZE” is a fast-paced rock tune that fully captures LiSA’s heroine energy, mixed by Zakk Cervini, a renowned mix engineer who has collaborated with many international artists.
I am honored to have been entrusted with the Japanese version of the theme song for this movie, in which my beloved Gwen, a strong and cute Spider-Woman, takes center stage. The heroes in this story have embraced great power and taken on great responsibility, transcending time, space, and sometimes even fear itself. I hope that you will enjoy “REALiZE” alongside their exploits on the big screen.
LiSA
LiSA, born as Risa Oribe, is a singer signed to the music label Sacra Music, which is under Sony Music Artists. She is a well-known name in the anime community, having performed theme songs for Sword Art Online, Demon Slayer, and Fate/Zero series. In addition, her various music performances and extensive discography have brought her multiple recognitions and awards, including the 39th JASRAC Gold Award and Grand Prix of the 62nd Japan Record Awards, among others.
The Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse film is a sequel to the 2018 film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers, and Justin K. Thompson serve as the film’s directors. Columbia Pictures, Sony Pictures Animation, and Marvel Entertainment led the production of said film. It premiered on May 30 in the US and has earned US$320,240,982 in earnings, according to Box Office Mojo.
