Bakugo Wins First Week of My Hero Academia Global Character Poll

The global character popularity poll for My Hero Academia revealed the results of the first week, and Bakugo Katsuki is currently on the top. The poll allows fans to cast one vote every day until Monday, September 30. Bakugo won everywhere besides the Middle East, where he placed 2nd behind Deku. You can see the worldwide ranking for the first week below.

The 2-month poll features 278 characters and will have the top 10 receive an illustration by Kohei Horikoshi. The top 3 characters will have a 24-hour limited voting at the end to determine the “WORLD’S BEST HERO,” who will also receive a bronze statue.

My Hero Academia anime is based on the manga series by Kohei Horikoshi, which was serialized in the Weekly Shonen Jump from July 2014 to August 2024. It ended last week, getting commemorative illustrations and messages from animators and fellow authors, along with the launch of the global poll.

The manga received its first anime adaptation by studio BONES in 2016. It received 6 more seasons in the following years, with the 7th season currently ongoing. Episode 13 was delayed to August 17 due to the Olympics.
