Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End TV anime previewed the upcoming episode 9 titled “Aura of the Guillotine” on Tuesday. The episode is slated to premiere on Friday, November 3, and is available to stream on Crunchyroll, Bilibili Global, Muse Asia, and Netflix. The synopsis of the episode is as follows:
Frieren, who had left the city alone, was confronted by “Aura the Guillotine,” one of the Seven Sages of Destruction. Aura, who possesses enormous magical power, hurls her army of the dead at Frieren one after another. Meanwhile, Fern and Stark rescue Count Granat from the clutches of Lügner and Linie. The battle between Frieren’s party and Aura’s army is about to begin.
Keiichiro Saito (Bocchi the Rock!) is directing the series at studio Madhouse (A Place Further Than The Universe). Tomohiro Suzuki (One Punch Man) is the scriptwriter, Evan Call (Violet Evergarden) is the music composer, and Reiko Nagasawa (takt op. Destiny) is the character designer. Atsumi Tanezaki (Anya Forger from Spy x Family) voices the titular character Frieren while YOASOBI performs the opening theme song “Yuusha” and milet sings the ending theme song titled “Anytime Anywhere.”

After the party of heroes defeated the Demon King, they restored peace to the land and returned to lives of solitude. Generations pass, and the elven mage Frieren comes face to face with humanity’s mortality. She takes on a new apprentice and promises to fulfill old friends’ dying wishes. Can an elven mind make peace with the nature of life and death? Frieren embarks on her quest to find out.
