Doraemon franchise started with a manga series by the Fujiko F. Fujio duo, composed of manga artists Hiroshi Fujimoto and Motoo Abiko. It began serializations in December 1969 and was published by Shogakukan from 1970 to 1996. The manga inspired multiple anime adaptations, movies, and shorts – all of which were produced by Shin-Ei Animation.
