Mattaku Saikin no Tantei to Kitara is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Masakuni Igarashi. It has been serialized in ASCII Media Works’ Dengeki Maoh seinen manga magazine since April 2016, with the 15th volume set to release on August 27. The author drew a special illustration to commemorate the anime news.
The author’s comment: The manga that I’ve been freely drawing is finally getting an anime! It’s all thanks to the fans who have patiently supported me, thank you so much!
That being said, is everything going to be okay!? There was some debate among the adults about the color of Shishoku-san’s nipples!
The official website describes the story for Mattaku Saikin no Tantei to Kitara:
Once upon a time, there was a famous detective who built an illustrious reputation and gained all the fame he wanted.
No case was unsolvable! There was no mystery he couldn’t crack! The high school detective, Keiichiro Nagumo!
…But that was over 10 years ago.
Now he suffers from back pain, presbyopia, and tooth sensitivity. What’s a smartphone? What’s a JK (high school girl)?
The once shining high school detective has now become an old man left behind by the times…
“My talent hasn’t withered—I’ve just lost a bit of youth, that’s all.”
Then one day, a lively high school girl named Mashiro bursts into the Nagumo Detective Agency, insisting she wants to be his assistant.
It seems she’s aiming to become a detective herself…!?
Thus begins the exciting daily life of the old detective and the eccentric self-proclaimed JK beauty, full of heart-pounding moments!
