The upcoming live-action movie adaptation for Cells at Work! has released a new trailer featuring the main theme song “50%” by Official HIGE DANdism. The movie will premiere in Japan on December 13. The band is known for anime theme songs such as “Cry Baby” and “White Noise” for Tokyo Revengers and “Mixed Nuts” for Spy x Family.
Hideki Takeuchi will direct the film, with the script by Yuichi Tokunaga. The cast includes:

- Takeru Satoh as White Blood Cell
- Koji Yamamoto as Killer T Cell
- Riisa Naka as NK Cell
- Wakana Matsumoto as Macrophage
- Maika Pugh as Platelet
- Shota Sometani – Helper T Cell
- Kyoko Fukada – Hepatocyte (Liver Cell)
- Rihito Itagaki – Rookie Red Blood Cell
- Ryo Kato – Senior Red Blood Cell
- Seishiro Kato – Takeda Arata
- Ainosuke Kataoka – Streptococcus Pneumoniae (Pneumonia Coccus)
- Shinya Niiro – Streptococcus Pyogenes
- Maju Ozawa – Staphylococcus Aureus
- Fukase (from SEKAI NO OWARI) – A mysterious character (role not yet revealed)
Cells at Work is a Japanese manga series created by Akane Shimizu. It was serialized in Kodansha’s Monthly Shonen Sirius magazine from January 2015 to January 2021. A spin-off manga titled Cells at Work! Code Black was also released, running from 2018 to 2021.
The series was adapted into an anime by David Production, with two seasons airing between July 2018 and February 2021, totaling 21 episodes. The franchise also includes a feature film and a 13-episode anime adaptation of the Cells at Work! Code Black spin-off, both animated by LIDEN FILMS.
