DIGIMON BEATBREAK New Anime Announces Miyu Irino and Megumi Han as Main Voice Cast

The new DIGIMON BEATBREAK TV anime announced its main cast ahead of the October 2025 premiere. The anime previously revealed its updated visual, introducing the high school protagonist and his partner digimon, Geckomon. The anime will premiere in October 2025.

The main voice cast includes:

  • Miyu Irino as Tomoro Tenma
  • Megumi Han as Geckomon

Miyu Irino voices Tomoro Tenma, the 15-year-old protagonist who is a high-school student. Irino commented on his new role:

“Digimon was a major part of my childhood when I was in elementary school. I raised them with everything I had, and spent countless hours playing with friends. It’s truly an honor to now be voicing the protagonist of that very Digimon series. I hope that today’s children can experience the same thrill we once felt. And for people of my generation, busy with life now, I hope it reminds them of the joy and excitement we had back then— Actually, not just them! I’m certain this will be a story that resonates across all generations, regardless of age or background!”

Megumi Han is voicing Geckomon, Tenma’s Reptile type partner Digimon. She also commented:

“I grew up wanting to be one of the DigiDestined. Since starting this career, Digimon has continued to grant me countless dreams, even beyond the dream of infinity. Now, at last, I’ve been given the chance to voice a partner Digimon for the first time. I see this as an opportunity to give back to the Digimon content itself, and to all the fans for the many gifts this franchise has given me.

As Tomoro’s partner, Geckomon, I will enter the world of DIGIMON BEATBREAK with heart and passion. The bond and adventure between Digimon and their human partners has evolved with the times. And now, at this moment in time, I hope we can deliver something new— Something timeless that still resonates with those who have long loved Digimon. With hope entrusted to that crescent moon.”

Digimon (Digital Monsters) is a Japanese multimedia franchise created by Bandai in 1997, originally starting as a virtual pet similar to Tamagotchi. It has since expanded into anime, video games, trading card games, and manga, becoming one of the most recognizable monster-based franchises, often compared to Pokémon.

The Digimon anime debuted in 1999 with Digimon Adventure, which was produced by Toei Animation in collaboration with WiZ, Bandai, and Fuji Television. It was the first anime series in the Digimon franchise and received numerous adaptations, video games, and spin-offs. Crunchyroll describes the story for the anime:
While at summer camp, seven kids come across seven Digivices and are transported to a strange digital world. In this new world they make friends with creatures that call themselves Digimon who were born to defend their world from various evil forces.

We previously had the opportunity to interview the Digimon franchise producer Hiromi Seki at last year’s New York Comic Con. She shared interesting insights about the origins of Digimon, its unique evolution system that sets it apart from Pokémon, and the franchise’s future with Digimon Adventure Beyond.
