Originally announced back in March, AS ONE is set two decades prior to the game’s events. The film brings together a strong main staff, including Kobun Shizuno, best known for directing several Detective Conan films, and character designer Yoshiyuki Sadamoto, recognized for his work on Neon Genesis Evangelion and The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, who returns to reimagine the characters for this project.

Director Shizuno previously commented on the protagonist, saying: “At the core of this story is the melody performed by Yo. As his song echoes through time and reaches Meguriboshi, long-hidden truths from the original game will come to light—revelations about Realide, the birth of Aerial, and the profound link that binds Meguriboshi and Earth.”
