Kindergarten WARS anime announced SUNRISE as its studio, revealing the first teaser visual and main staff. The anime was first announced in October.
Shinsuke Gomi will be the director, with Junko Yamanaka as the character designer. The main voice cast was previously announced and includes Atsumi Tanezaki (Anya Forger in SPY x FAMILY) as Rita and Kentaro Kumagai as Doug. You can see the two in the new visual:
You Chiba writes and draws the Kindergarten WARS manga, which began serialization on Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ app and website in September 2022. It has released 15 volumes as of August 2025. Yen Press is releasing the manga in English, describing the story:
Rita is Convict 999, a former legendary assassin who now works at a kindergarten for the children of world leaders. Her job is to protect the schoolchildren from the clutches of would-be assassins sent after them! But even with her overwhelming strength, Rita has a weakness—she’s head-over-heels for good-looking men!
