Medalist Season 2 revealed a new trailer featuring the ending theme song “Rookies” by Conton Candy. The sequel is slated to release on January 24, 2026. Studio ENGI returns to animate the second season with Yasutaka Yamamoto as director.

A visual was released recently, which featured Inori and the new cast members. The voice cast consists of:

The anime is based on a manga series written and illustrated by Tsurumaikada. It has been serialized in Kodansha’s Monthly Afternoon since May 2020. The manga series also won at the 68th Shogakukan Manga Award for the general category.

Kodansha is licensing it in English, and they describe the story as follows:
Tsukasa, whose dreams were crushed. Inori, left to fend for herself. These two share a dream…and their tenacity may be the only thing that sees them through. Their destination? The ice…on the world’s stage!
