Kagurabachi Ads Appear Worldwide as Fans Expect Anime Adaptation Announcement on April 27

A series of coordinated teaser visuals linked to Kagurabachi has begun appearing across multiple regions, increasing speculation about an upcoming anime adaptation.

The campaign, which first began in Japan, features a black goldfish motif alongside minimalist visuals and cryptic messaging. Physical advertisements and digital posts quickly gained traction, particularly on X, where fans began analyzing details and connecting the imagery to the series.

The main motif is a black goldfish, which is an ability related to Kagurabachi’s main character, Chihiro Rokuhira. Below are images of the ads from New York (via X) and Japan (via X).

The place where the potential Kagurabachi anime announcement will be JUMP PRESS, an official program related to Weekly Shonen Jump. Jump also teased the upcoming presentation with a visual featuring several motifs, with a goldfish noticed to be from Weekly Shonen Jump‘s 2024 Issue #40, which had Kagurabachi on the cover. The other items appear to be related to SAKAMOTO DAYS, The Promised Neverland, Black Clover and Jujutsu Kaisen: Modulo.

The movement has since expanded beyond Japan, with similar visuals reported across fan communities in Brazil and China. The rapid spread across regions has contributed to widespread discussion, with users attempting to decode the campaign’s meaning.

A mysterious X account was also opened, named as the string E6B7B5E5A4A9. It decodes to “淵天,” read as Enten. This is the name of Chihiro’s blade in Kagurabachi. The string teased on the website, e78ca9e6b685e98ca6, is also a hex-encoded UTF-8 sequence that decodes to “猩涅錦.” While these characters do not align with their standard Japanese meanings, they correspond directly to the named abilities associated with Enten in Kagurabachi: Aka (猩), Kuro (涅), and Nishiki (錦).

The messaging for the campaign includes the phrase “A new era is about to emerge from Japan,” leaving little room for doubt that a big project is underway.

At the time of writing, no official confirmation has been made regarding the nature of the project. However, the scale of the rollout and its association with official channels have strengthened speculation that it may relate to a new adaptation or major expansion for Kagurabachi.

Kagurabachi by Takeru Hokazono has been serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump since September 2023, with ten volumes released so far. Volume 11 is set to release on May 1, 2026. The manga won the Next Manga Award 2024 in the Print Category.
