SAKAMOTO DAYS Season 2 TV anime revealed the first teaser visual and trailer, along with a January 2027 release date. The first season made insanely strong numbers at Netflix, and the sequel was announced shortly after its ending. The sequel will also have a new director, with Daisuke Nakajima taking over Masaki Watanabe. Watanabe is credited as chief director.
Studio TMS Entertainment will again be in charge of the animation, with Yo Moriyama returning as the character designer and Taku Kishimoto returning to handle the series composition.

Yuto Suzuki writes and draws the SAKAMOTO DAYS manga series. It has been serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine since 2020, with a total of twenty-seven volumes released as of May 1, 2025. VIZ Media licensed the manga in English. The series also got a live-action film adaptation, which released in Japan during the 2026 Golden Week (April 29 to May 5).
The story follows Taro Sakamoto, a legendary hitman who retired in order to marry and have a child. He now runs a store, but his past life is not that easy to get rid off. Despite looking very different as a retiree, Sakamoto will not hesitate to protect his family and take down anyone who tries to put them in danger.
