Dragon Ball Super Manga Artist Toyotaro Draws Rimuru and Veldora for That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Anime

Dragon Ball Super manga artist Toyotaro has drawn an illustration of Rimuru Tempest and Veldora in a new collaboration celebrating That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Season 4. The anime was on a break last Friday and will continue its second cour on August 7.

The illustration was drawn exclusively by Toyotaro, who has serialized Dragon Ball Super in V Jump since 2015. You can check it out below.

Fuse wrote the Tensura light novel series starting in 2014, featuring illustrations by Mitz Vah. The novel ended on November 29 last year with the release of Volume 23. The anime is adapting the manga, which is drawn by Taiki Kawakami.

The TV anime adaptation by studio 8bit began in October 2018, with the first season until March 2019. The second season was released through 2 split cours in Winter 2021 and Summer 2021. The third one began in April and concluded with Episode 24 on September 27, 2024.

That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime: The Movie – Scarlet Bond was the first movie for the franchise, and it premiered in 2022. The movie had an original story by the creator Fuse, also featuring the movie-original character called Hiiro.

Season 4 of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime is currently airing as a split five-cour production, with the second cour underway since July 3. Testarossa, Ultima, and Carrera recently made their debuts in the anime.

Toyotaro recently drew old man Goku to celebrate the 100th installment of his Toyotaro Tried Drawing It! series. The franchise has Dragon Ball Super: The Galactic Patrol sequel anime in production, as well as the Beerus remake coming this fall. DRAGON BALL XENOVERSE 3 is also set to release in 2027.
