Statement

Ito Izumo posted on Twitter a picture of statement, which talks about the notice for the future activities and apologies for the hiatuses in the magazine.

Regarding ongoing The Demon Girl Next Door in Kirara Carat, I ended up going on a hiatus two months in a row, in the November and December issues, as I didn’t make it in time for schedule due to my poor health caused by my chronic disease worsening.

Let me apologize to the fans and the people of the editorial department for the worries and troubles caused.

With reference to my current health condition and the future publication schedule,

it’s currently been hard for me to have a seat and perform tasks for long hours due to my decreased stamina and impaired vision by medical treatment for my illness. There has been little time to work on the series, so I talked it over with the editorial department, and it’s been decided that I will do the job for the series within my comfort zone for a while.

I will concentrate on the medical treatment and the work I have at hand now, and will update information for future activities on Twitter.

On a final note, please accept my another apology to have kept you waiting for the story due to my poor health management.

The Demon Girl Next Door

Ito Izumo has been running the manga in Manga Time Kirara Carat since 2014. The series released its 6th compiled volume on February 25, 2021. In addition, it received a TV anime adaptation in 2019, and Season 2 is slated for April 2022.

Seven Seas Entertainment has been publishing the English version and describes the plot as:

The hilarious manga about a weak demon girl and her powerful magical girl rival that inspired the anime!

One morning, fifteen-year-old Yoshida Yuko wakes up to discover she has sprouted demon horns and a tail! Not only that, she learns from her mom that she has supernatural powers and an important mission—to restore her family’s glory by defeating the local magical girl. The magical girl in question is Chiyoda Momo, a student at Yuko’s school. With strength that is only mediocre at best, Yuko’s task to vanquish Momo will prove more challenging than she realizes in this topsy-turvy magical girl comedy.
