Lilith from the upcoming anime series The Maid I Hired Recently Is Mysterious and Shikimori from Shikimori’s Not Just a Cutie were featured together in a collaborative visual as part of a television promotion by Asahi Television Broadcasting (ABC) and TV Asahi.
Both anime titles will air on the station’s “ANiMAZING” program slots on July 23 this year. In addition, ten people will be lucky to receive a physical copy of the visual through a Twitter raffle. Application of entries ends on July 24.
The anime Shikimori’s Not Just a Cutie recently ended with 12 episodes, and was animated by Doga Kobo. It was directed by Ryota Itoh, with a screenplay by Yoshimi Narita. It is based on a manga series by Keigo Maki, and has been serialized by Kodansha’s Magazine Pocket since 2019. Kodansha USA has licensed the manga in English, describing the plot as:
Shikimori seems like the perfect girlfriend: cute, fun to be around, sweet when she wants to be… but she has a cool dark side that comes out under the right circumstances. And her boyfriend Izumi loves to be around when that happens!
Meanwhile, The Maid I Hired Recently Is Mysterious will premiere on July 24 this year, and will be animated by Silver Link and Blade. Mirai Minato is directing and writing the series’ script, while Machi Yoshino is designing the characters. It is based on the manga by Wakame Konb, which began serialization in Square Enix’s Monthly Gangan Joker in 2020. Yen Press has licensed the manga in English:
There’s something really strange about the maid I just hired! No normal person could be so beautiful, or cook such amazingly delicious food, or know exactly what I want before I even ask. She must be using magic—right, a spell is the only thing that can explain why my chest feels so tight whenever I look at her. I swear, I’m going to get to the bottom of what makes this maid so…mysterious!
