Sakamoto Days is getting an anime adaptation, as announced during the first Shonen Jump Press stream on YouTube. Tomokazu Sugita is voicing the titular character Sakamoto. The staff includes:
- Director: Masaki Watanabe
- Series Composition: Taku Kishimoto
- Character Design: Yo Moriyama

Earlier this month, a Netflix Brand Licensing report accidentally revealed that the anime would be streaming on the platform. However, the information was soon removed.
Yuto Suzuki’s Sakamoto Days (stylized as SAKAMOTO DAYS) manga has been serialized since 2020 in the Weekly Shonen Jump magazine. There are currently 166 chapters out and a total of 16 volumes.
VIZ Media licensed the Sakamoto Days manga in English and the series is also available on Shueisha’s Manga PLUS platform. So far, VIZ Media has published 10 volumes: the latest one came out on April 2. The plot is described as:
Taro Sakamoto was once a legendary hitman considered the greatest of all time. Bad guys feared him! Assassins revered him! But then one day he quit, got married, and had a baby. He’s now living the quiet life as the owner of a neighborhood store, but how long can Sakamoto enjoy his days of retirement before his past catches up to him?!
