Vinland Saga Season 2 Reveals Ketil Character Design

Vinland Saga season 2 is coming in January 2023, and the official Twitter account for the anime shared the character design for Ketil, who will be meeting Thorfin in the sequel. Hideaki Tezuka is voicing the character, and you can also see him in the latest trailer:

Vinland Saga Season 2 – Ketil Character Design

The director Shuhei Yabuta commented on Ketil, saying that he’s a character that shows kindness and weakness in a period when it’s not common. Abiru Takahiko, the character designer and animation director, also commented and mentioned that Ketil is related to Olmar and Thorgil. He also commented on their noses being similar. You can read both of their comments in the image above. Shuhei Yabuta said that the staff for the anime would be returning to animate the sequel at studio MAPPA, and the staff for season 1 included:

  • Chief animation director: Takahiko Abiru
  • Music; Yutaka Yamada
  • Script: Hiroshi Seko (24 episodes), Kenta Ihara (episodes 5-24)

Besides Shunsuke Takeuchi as Einar, the new cast for season 2 includes:

  • Yu Hayashi as Olmar
  • Rikka Sakuragawa as Arnheid
  • Shunsuke Takeuchi as Einar
    Taiten Kusunoki as Thorgil
  • Fuminori Komatsu as Snake
  • Hideaki Tezuka as Ketil

Amazon and Netflix are both streaming the first season, and they describe the story:
